Underground Step depicts the pace of underground life. Filmed between Naples and Milan, it merges stop-motion and rotoscoping techniques. Passers-by, filmed at the Porta Garibaldi railway station of Milan, turned into patterns of light by tracing over the motion picture footage, frame by frame, as if time itself were being redrawn.
